A little about me.
I have been practicing various styles of yoga since 2000.
I began vinyasa yoga with Granville Cousins in Manchester, I was inspired by the dynamism and style of his teaching. I found that to move through postures with my breath as a guide is what really connects me with yoga.
My practice has moved from being purely physical to a kind of meditation that both grounds and refreshes me.
In 2005 I began practicing with Marta Divall, an Ashtanga style teacher. Marta taught me a great deal including being confident in myself and my abilities. She helped me to realize my desire to teach.
I found I loved teaching yoga to people and felt so excited to be able to pass on something that had been slowly changing my life for the last few years.
In October 2009 I passed my RYT 200 hour teacher training at Union Yoga in Edinburgh with Brian Cooper and Michael Gannon.
This is the beginning of my teaching journey and I am always learning, evolving my skills as a teacher; attending workshops regularly help to keep my teaching fresh and immediate.
Some of the workshops I have undertaken have been with Danny Paradise, Emil Wendell, Russell Case, Gingi Lee, Reema Datta, John Scott and Brian Cooper.
I teach in an open, explorative manner and people find my classes warm and welcoming.
I believe there is much more to yoga than what our bodies can do, it is not about an arbitary level of flexibility or strength. There is a three fold effect physical, mental and spiritual.
A commitment to consistent practice will have many effects on our mind and body, some of them expected and some unexpected.
A very big thank you to all my teachers in life, beginning with the original two.
